    My colleagues Peggy Lee, Kyuho Jin and I are pleased to announce that a new, updated version of the LPJ VC Reputation Index is now available. This index is a multi-item, time varying measure that uses five-year rolling averages to create annual measures of VC reputation for approximately 500 to 1300 VC firms, depending on the year.

     

    Thanks to improvements in the VentureXpert database and a generous grant from the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation, we have improved our accuracy in identifying venture capital firms and differentiating them from other types of private equity firms, and have expanded the index so that it now covers the years 1990-2010.

     

    We continue to make the LPJ VC Reputation Index publicly available for research purposes. You can download excel spreadsheets with the complete set of index scores for all years and find details on its construction and validation at http://www.timothypollock.com/vc_reputation.htm.
