    Hello...

    We hope you will be interested in joining us for a conversation over coffee and a light breakfast about the innovative use of technology in research methods.  Our discussion will have three anchors: 1) what technologies are being using,  2) what are the implications, and 3) what have we learned? A more detailed overview is included below and the program blurb is attached.

    Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think may be interested. We look forward to seeing you in Chicago.

    Thank you!

    Using Innovative Technologies in Research Methods

    Technological advances, beyond changing what we study, are changing how we go about studying it. In recent years, scholars have begun to use technologies in innovative ways in management research. From examining blogs to better understand creativity to collecting biometric data to gain insight into social interactions and decision-making, these scholars are breaking new ground. Yet, we know little about the range of ways researchers are using technologies, nor the implications these technologies raise. This caucus will provide an opportunity for scholars who are using technology, and those who are interested in doing so, to connect and converse.   It will provide an opportunity collaboratively build new knowledge. In this discussion, we will explore:

    ·         examples of the various ways scholars are using innovative technology in management research;

    ·         the broader implications of using these technologies; and

    ·         some lessons learned that can guide scholars as they consider adopting technology in their own research.
