OMT Paper Development and Writing Workshop
sponsored by the UCL School of Management & Cass Business School
London, January 31 - February 1, 2019
The OMT Division of the Academy of Management will hold a 2-day Paper Development & Writing Workshop on January 31 and February 1, 2019, in London, United Kingdom.
The first part of the workshop, on January 31 (3pm to 9pm) will be hosted by the Cass Business School; the second part, on February 1 (9am to 5pm) will be hosted by the UCL School of Management.
This developmental workshop offers the opportunity for Ph.D. students, postdocs and faculty members at an early stage of their career to develop papers for publication in quality outlets, and to develop their reviewing skills.
The workshop will be led by current and past members of the OMT Division Executive Board, as well as past and current editors and editorial board members of Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, Innovation: Organization and Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Organization Science, and Strategic Organization.
Authors will receive feedback from mentors and peers with similar research interests. Participants will also learn more about the publication process, the criteria that editors and reviewers use to evaluate submitted paper, and how to refine their manuscripts to increase their chances to be invited to revise and resubmit them for further consideration.
There is no fee for attending the workshop although participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. A limited number of stipends are available for application to partially offset travel expenses for out of town Ph.D. students with working papers.
The workshop is open to all young scholars working on both micro and macro topics within organizations broadly defined. If you have any questions, please email Nika Ananth (poornika.ramakrishnan.15@ucl.ac.uk). To attend the workshop, please indicate your interest by emailing Nika your CV as well as a title and abstract of a working paper that you would like to discuss by November 15, 2018. Full working papers are due before January 6, 2019. Those who wish to attend without submitting a working paper may also attend by submitting their CV by November 15, 2018 and will be accommodated if there is space on a first come first served basis.
