The Department of Management in the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University invites applications and nominations for the position of Teaching Assistant Professor in Organizational Leadership at the College of Business & Economics beginning August 10, 2018. This is a non-tenure track, continuing appointment position, focusing on teaching courses in organizational leadership. Salary and benefits are AACSB-competitive and appropriate for experience and qualifications.
Duties will include teaching organizational leadership and management courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Business and Economics in face-to-face and online formats. The expected teaching load for this position would be four courses per semester. Service duties include supporting current faculty in developing the new Organizational Leadership major, performing duties in student recruitment, student retention, and student placement activities. The service component also reflects a university-wide emphasis on leadership education. Additionally, there are several outreach opportunities in West Virginia and beyond. Teaching professors are voting members of the West Virginia University Faculty Senate and Faculty Assembly. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess either:
- A graduate business degree in Organizational Leadership, Business Management, or another closely related field, and a minimum five (5) years of executive level business experience with a demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.
- A Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Business Management, or another closely related field, and the ability to teach these subjects in a university environment, both in the face-to-face and online formats.
Candidates will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, and a strong ability to engage in outreach and executive development. Teaching duties may include courses at the undergraduate or graduate level for resident and on-line programs. At WVU, teaching faculty are eligible for promotion with a sustained record of classroom and online teaching excellence.
