TWO TENURE-TRACK POSITIONS FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP & EMERGING ENTERPRISES AT SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY

The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises. The expectation is that hired faculty will officially start in mid-August 2026. Our emphasis for these positions is for high potential entrepreneurship scholars. The EEE scholarly team has a variety of research backgrounds and will welcome applicants with diverse scholarly interests related to entrepreneurship. For at least one position, the candidate's fit with Whitman's Institute for an Entrepreneurial Society (IES) will be viewed favorably.

Entrepreneurship is a central pillar of the strategic plans of both Syracuse University and the Whitman School as demonstrated by the presence of the standalone academic Department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises (EEE). The EEE Department offers degree programs in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Its educational programs and research productivity are consistently ranked among the best in the United States, including being ranked #2 globally in the TCU Entrepreneurship Research Productivity rankings and with top 20 rankings for their undergraduate and masters programs. EEE faculty are highly research active and publish regularly in leading journals in entrepreneurship, management, and related disciplines. They are also excellent teachers. With those hires, the Department will comprise eleven tenure-track research active faculty members, as well as a number of highly engaged Professors of Practice, an active program of seminars and visitors, and a variety of community-connected programs. This represents one of the strongest scholarly entrepreneurship environments in the world. Members of the current research faculty include Mike Haynie, Hyoju Jeong, Alex McKelvie, Maria Minniti, Paul Momtaz, Arielle Newman, David Park, and Johan Wiklund. Candidates are expected to demonstrate outstanding promise for innovative teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates will be evaluated according to their research potential, the overall quality of their scholarly work, evidence of their commitment to teaching and their skills as a teacher, and the strength of their recommendations.
