📣 Join Us for "Navigating and Leveraging Field Site Access" PDW at #AOM2025 📣
Are you a doctoral candidate facing challenges in gaining access to field sites? Or do you know someone who is? Join us for a Professional Development Workshop on "Navigating and Leveraging Field Site Access: Strategies and Challenges in Field Research" at the Academy of Management's 2025 annual conference!
This workshop brings together accomplished field researchers - Michel Anteby, Mark de Rond, Tim Weiss, Pablo Daniel Fernandez, Janina Klein, and Joelle Evans - who have successfully navigated access across diverse organizational settings, from military and healthcare to informal markets, social enterprises, and high-security prisons. Through panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions, we'll explore four key themes:
💡 Securing and maintaining field site access 💡 Ethical considerations and managing boundaries 💡 Creating reciprocal value with research sites 💡 Navigating data collection in sensitive settings
The 3-hour workshop features:
- Expert panel presentations from experienced scholars
- Panel-led interactive discussions
- Two rounds of breakout thematic discussions
- Integration of key insights and collaborative learning
