The PDW is structured in two sections: the first section will be dedicated to a panel discussion, in which panelists will examine the evolving landscape of sustainability measurement and its role in shaping purpose-driven organizations, with particular attention to B Corp certification and emerging regulatory frameworks. Panelists and the Discussant will engage with current research gaps and emerging themes related to impact measurement, credibility, and accountability, as well as the challenges associated with aligning measurement systems with organizational purpose and strategy. Specifically, scholars will explore how new standards such as B Corp Certification v2.1 and regulatory initiatives like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive influence firms' approaches to impact assessment; the risks of symbolic compliance versus substantive change; and how measurement frameworks can enhance or hinder the authenticity of sustainability practices. The final part of this section will be dedicated to Q&A with the audience.
The second section of the PDW is dedicated to participants who have submitted short papers. The admitted participants will receive feedback from the Round Table Facilitators and other participants. The Round Table Facilitators represent different backgrounds and methodological expertise, but all share interests, experience and ongoing research activities about purpose-driven organizations. The organizers will develop themes for each round table so that participants sharing similar interests will be grouped together.
