    Unconferencing SAP and Beyond:

An Open Space for Emerging Topics and Nascent Projects

    Saturday, Aug 5 2023 8:00AM - 12:00PM ET (GMT-4/UTC-4)
at Boston Park Plaza in Boylston

Over the last two decades, SAP scholars have developed a deep and highly differentiated expertise in practice-based strategy research. While traditional PDWs and Symposia offer diverse opportunities to discuss such topics, the Unconferencing SAP PDW provides an open space for discussing nascent topics, dilemmas, development and research as well as teaching ideas. These aspects fall mostly outside the scope of other parts of the conference program. This forward-looking event aims to nurture emerging topics in Strategizing Activities and Practices (SAP) scholarship nascent research projects of SAP scholars, including PhD students, early-career and senior scholars. We invite SAP scholars and related communities to drill deeper into specific questions within practice studies or gather new communities around emerging topics in SAP research.

PDW is divided into two main parts:

    1. Bar camp - participants set the topics for three series of open roundtable slots; anyone can suggest a session and the final sessions are decided by the participants through "dotmocracy"

    2. Demo day -  very short presentations on nascent projects that participants can get feedback on. Three slides for a 3-minute pitch presentation. All pitches will be followed by three minutes for questions and feedback.

For the Bar Camp you are welcome to just show up ideally already with a pitch for a session in mind (however, we would appreciate it if you would let us know the title in advance). For the Demo Day, we do require a pre-registration by sending us the title of your presentation in advance. You can let us know about your attendance to both sessions by registering to this link before July 24th: https://forms.gle/xKnrBCFqY1JCdDY7A

We are also organising a Q&A session where we can discuss more about the format of this new kind of PDW and answer any questions. The Q&A will take place Tuesday, July 3rd at 14.00 CET and can be accessed here:
