Expanding Conceptions of Scholarly Impact: Promising Practices from the Field
Monday, April 24, 2023
3:15 - 4:30 pm ET
Registration: https://cgsnet.org/webinar/expanding-conceptions-of-scholarly-impact-promising-practices-from-the-field/
In order to prepare graduate students to produce research and scholarship with high impact we need to reconsider the ways in which research and scholarship are incentivized and taught. Beyond academic journal articles, graduate researchers need to find new ways to measure impact and connect research products to areas of community need. This webinar will showcase preliminary findings from a CGS/AERA project funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Spencer Foundation, and the Mellon Foundation that examined the concept of scholarly impact. Attendees will learn promising developments in the field as well as portable strategies that can be developed in diverse institutional contexts.
This webinar is organized and hosted by the Council of Graduate Schools.
