At the turn of the 21st century, Wanda Orlikowski and Steve Barley urged scholars of organizations and information systems to learn more from each other to understand how technologies are changing the world. They recently joined forces again to curate a virtual special issue: "Technologies change, the charge remains the same." Their reflections and ten exemplar papers can be found in the ASQ-MISQ virtual collection:
In this symposium, you will hear from the editors of ASQ and MISQ (Beckman and Burton-Jones), the editors of the virtual special issue (Barley and Orlikowski), and authors from the ten exemplar articles (Leonardi, Essén, Värlander, Lebovitz, Levina, Lifshitz-Assaf, van den Broek, Sergeeva, Huysman, Beane, Rahman, Curchod, Patriotta, Cohen, Neysen, Massa, O'Mahony, Vaast, Pinsonneault, and Bechky).
It will be a unique chance to come together across fields to learn from each other and be inspired by ground-breaking research on an increasingly critical topic.
