After the successful launch of the webinar series by the Centre for African Smart Public Value Governance (C4SP) on 'Administrative Traditions in African Countries' with Prof. B. Guy Peters (U. of Pittsburgh), we are excited to continue the journey. This time, we invite you to join us in a dynamic discussion where we specify the influences of Western administrative traditions and non-Western local traditions on the institutions of African bureaucracies - an organizational context scholars have defined as institutional interfaces of Western and non-Western institutions.

Together with scholars across the continent, we will uncover how these traditions shape the current administrative practices and impact the governance in Botswana, Cap Verde, Ghana, Mauritius, Senegal, and South Africa.

    Speakers:

Prof. Mogopodi Lekorwe (U. of Botswana) & Prof. Jess Auerbach (U. of Cape Town)

    Topic:

Building on our understanding of 'Administrative Traditions,' the upcoming webinar will be led by two distinguished experts. Prof. Mogopodi Lekorwe and Prof. Jess Auerbach, renowned for their distinctive research in the field, will examine the specific administrative pathways and reforms in Botswana and South Africa. The discussion will highlight the integration of historical practices with modern demands of public administration, offering deep insights into their current governance models.
