Dear All,
We are delighted to invite you to the Workshop on Managing the Future of Healthcare Systems, hosted at UCL Global Business School for Health (GBSH) in London on 26 June 2026.
Against a backdrop of unprecedented pressures - from workforce shortages and resource scarcity to emerging technologies and growing multidisciplinary complexity - and calls for systemic change, this workshop brings together scholars from across management domains to explore how adaptive practices, new professional roles, and emerging technologies can build institutional resilience in high-pressure clinical environments, and how research can help bridge the gap between theoretical advancement and real-world healthcare transformation.
The workshop will combine invited and contributed sessions, fostering dialogue between leading scholars and a broader research community. Invited speakers will offer perspectives on key themes, while contributed sessions will showcase a diversity of ongoing research and stimulate interdisciplinary exchange.
For the contributed sessions, we invite theoretical and empirical submissions examining these challenges, including (but not limited to):
• Adaptive leadership, management and strategy frameworks
• AI, digital health, and algorithmic organising
• Workforce redesign, new professional roles, and team dynamics
• Organisational resilience, entrepreneurship, and new organisational forms
Submissions should take the form of an extended abstract (max. 1,000 words), including a research question, theoretical framing, methods, and key findings where available.
