    ๐Ÿš€ Call for Papers | EGOS 2026 โ€“ Sub-theme 29
Framing, Attention & Managerial Cognition in an Age of Platform Ecosystems and AI

Do you study framing, attention, cognition, or sensemaking in the context of platforms, ecosystems, or Artificial Intelligence? If so, we warmly invite you to submit your work to EGOS Sub-theme 29!

    ๐ŸŒ About the Sub-theme

Scholarship on framing, attention, cognition, and sense-making has advanced our understanding of how processes of social perception and interpretation shape organizational outcomes. However, much of this work still assumes "Chandlerian" firms-vertically integrated, hierarchical organizations. Yet today's strategizing and organizing are increasingly shaped by platform ecosystems, AI-driven firms, and post-Chandlerian forms of coordination. These settings introduce new cognitive complexities for managers, complementors, users, and regulators alike.

    ๐ŸŽฏ What we're looking for:

This sub-theme invites contributions that examine when, how, and why cognitive processes unfold in platform- and AI-driven firms and their stakeholders-including:

    • Framing, attention, and sensemaking in platform ecosystems
    • Managerial cognition in AI-driven organizations
    • Stakeholder cognition across digital and multi-sided markets

We welcome papers using diverse methodologies (including conceptual work) and encourage submissions that draw on a broad range of cognitive perspectives within and beyond organization studies.
