Call for Papers - Strategies for Sustainable Human Development, June 19-21, Washington DC

  • 1.  Call for Papers - Strategies for Sustainable Human Development, June 19-21, Washington DC

    Posted 01-10-2024 17:37

This conference is designed to explore the intersection of human capital, ESG, and firm strategy from both an academic as well as practice perspective. The timing of this conference marks the five-year anniversary of the Business Roundtable, an association of top CEOs, in Washington, D.C. that formed a commitment to track ESG efforts in business. As we reflect on this movement to redefine success from financial shareholder primacy to a broader stakeholder perspective, we consider the progress with this call to address ESG in concert with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

To advance this agenda, the conference will feature three tracks that focus, respectively, on (1) Contributing to Societal Health and Community Well-being, (2) Managing Firm Human Capital Sustainably, and (3) Enabling Educational Institutions and Equitable Opportunity.

In addition to mainstream strategy researchers, we are especially receptive to submissions from researchers who do not typically identify as such. Our hope is to foster multi-disciplinary dialogue and inter-disciplinary collaborations.

Paper submissions (maximum 4000 words) can be uploaded to the SMS Special Conference Portal by January 16, 2024.
