Call for Participation: AOM 2026 PDW on Corporate Political Activity (CPA)

"Cross-Pollinating Corporate Political Activity (CPA): The Future of the Field"

    Sunday, August 2, 10:00am – 12:30pm at Convention Center 119A

Sponsored by STR, Co-sponsored by OMT, SIM, OB, IM, and ENT

    Dear colleagues,

We are excited to invite participants to our interactive PDW on Corporate Political Activity (CPA)-a dynamic and increasingly intersectional area of research on firm–government interactions. This session spotlights nascent cross-disciplinary CPA research, features presentations of exciting new work by emerging scholars alongside contributions from established panelists who will situate these projects within the broader literature, and provides feedback to participants on their own boundary-crossing CPA research-with the broader aim of fostering mentorship and building a collaborative community dedicated to the future of the field.

    Topics include:

    ·       Organizational design of CPA

    ·       Intersections of CPA and CSR

    ·       CPA efforts of nascent firms/startups

    ·       The micro-foundations of CPA

    ·       The visibility, ethics, and societal consequences of CPA

    ·       Navigating CPA in an era of geopolitical tension, nationalism and populism

The session features a panel of leading scholars, including Mark Mizruchi, Andrew Barron, and Jordan Siegel, as well as an awesome line-up of presenters/discussants, including Cheng Gao, Max Kagan, Krishnan Nair, Anna McKean, Nicholas Occhiuto and Sukrit Puri, who will both present their own research at the intersection of CPA and other areas, as well as lead an idea workshop after their presentations.

To help us in planning, please consider pre-registering by July 15, 2026. If you'd like, you can also submit an extended abstract (up to 1,500 words). Participants will be grouped into tables based on research interests and receive feedback from discussants.
