Call for Unpublished Data for Functional Diversity Meta

  • 1.  Call for Unpublished Data for Functional Diversity Meta

    Dear colleagues,

I am working on a meta-analysis on team functional diversity and team effectiveness (i.e., performance/innovation) as the partial fulfillment of my master thesis. I am reaching out for unpublished data. I would more than appreciate your time and help.

Your data would be eligible for inclusion if you meet the following criteria:
    1. Studies need to include Team Functional Diversity and Team Effectiveness
IV = Team Functional Diversity (The extent to which team members' expertise or professions differ.)
DV = Team performance (e.g., Self-report team performance, adherence to deadline) or Team innovation (e.g., self-report team creativity/innovation, product innovativeness).
You assessed team functional diversity/ team professional diversity/team expert diversity, and team performance or innovation/creativity.

    2. You are using adult samples.
We are specifically requesting the following information:
    • Effect sizes (r, F, chi-square, d, z, t, p, OR, or RR) for the relationship between Functional Diversity and Team performance/Innovation. Additionally, indicate the source of the data (e.g., self-report, peer, supervisor, etc.). If you have multiple effect sizes (e.g., two outcome variables, data were collected across multiple timepoints), please provide a correlation matrix of all the relevant variables and indicate at which timepoint each variable was collected if there are multiple waves.

    • Measurement information including Functional Diversity measures and Performance/Innovation. Specifically, for functional diversity, please indicate the way you calculated the diversity score and how each individual's functions or functional backgrounds are evaluated. For the performance/innovation, please indicate the scale you used or how you calculated the score. We aim to put previously used functional diversity operationalization into four major types specified by Bunderson and Sutcliffe (2002) and distinguish the unique effect of each type of functional diversity on team effectiveness.
    • Study design and methods information , including where the data were collected (i.e., country) and the study design (i.e., longitudinal, cross-sectional). Include if the study was collected as part of an intervention or laboratory study.

    • Sample characteristics include sample size, average age and SD, sample type (e.g., adult employee, army), and a brief description of unique sample characteristics (e.g., indicate if all participants were of the same occupation). If multiple data sources were used (e.g., data were collected from both members and leaders), create separate sample descriptions for each source.

    • How you would prefer to have your data cited in the meta-analysis

If you have data you're able to share or have any questions, please email me (yichentang@gatech.edu) before Aug. 15th. Thank you again for your time in advance.

    Cheers,
    Yichen Tang
