Hello, OMT. I hope you are well.
I am pleased to share a call for papers for a Special Issue of Human Resource Management Journal titled "New Vistas for Human Resource Management Research in the Global South," guest edited by Ajnesh Prasad, Martyna Śliwa, Amon Barros (me!), and Ghazal Zulfiqar, with Jeoung Yul Lee serving as the HRMJ editor.
Although the Special Issue is located in HRM, its speak to several conversations within Organization and Management Theory. The call invites work that examines how organizational and employment relations are shaped by colonial legacies, institutional inequality, informality, local and Indigenous knowledge, and the limits of theories developed primarily from Global North settings. We are particularly interested in papers that use Global South contexts as grounds for conceptual, theoretical, and methodological development.
The submission deadline is 31 December 2026. We welcome conceptual, empirical, and methodological submissions, including work that speaks across HRM, organization theory, critical management studies, international management, and related areas.
Please circulate the call to colleagues, doctoral students, and research groups who may find it relevant. We would be very pleased to receive submissions from members of the OMT community.
Best wishes,
Amon
