Dear friends and colleagues,
We are excited to share with you information on the upcoming seminar and workshops at the Ethnography Atelier:
On Tuesday April 28, 2026, 3:00 to 4:30pm CET we will have a workshop on "Accessing the field". Daisy Chung (Bayes), Greetje Corporaal (Rotterdam School of Management), and Pedro Monteiro (CBS) will share their experiences-struggles, strategies, and funny anecdotes-while negotiating access to various field sites. If you are planning to begin fieldwork soon and are nervous about negotiating access, this workshop is for you.
On Tuesday May 5, 2026, 3:30 to 5:00pm CET we will have a seminar with Marselia Tan (ESSEC), titled "Product Delegitimization and Practice Re-emergence: A Historical Case Study of Infant Formula Market and Pro-Breastfeeding Movement in the U.S., 1971-2000". Seminars are a great space to learn about ongoing research and the methodological journeys shaping these projects.
On Tuesday May 26, 2026, 3:00 to 4:30pm CET we will have our last workshop with Ruthanne Huising (ESSEC) on "Ethnographic Observation". This workshop will address our capacity to focus, notice, and describe to improve our ethnographic data collection. It will include reflections and practice to hone our observational skills.
You can sign up to the seminar and workshops (and access materials from our podcast and previous events) through our website. These are our last events for the academic year. Stayed tunned as we finalize our program for the upcoming year!
Best wishes,
The Ethnography Atelier Team
