🚨 Call for Papers | Special Issue in the Journal of Management Studies! πŸš¨

    Board Dynamics in Complex Times

Boards of directors play a critical role in shaping organizational strategy, legitimacy, and societal impact. Yet, in today's world of geopolitical tensions, technological disruption, and rising social and environmental demands, traditional governance perspectives fall short of capturing the full complexity of board functioning.

This Special Issue seeks to open the "black box" of the boardroom and invites research on the behavioural, cognitive, and relational dynamics that drive board decision-making and governance outcomes in these challenging times.

    We welcome contributions that explore:
βœ… Interfaces between boards and internal/external actors (e.g., top managers, investors, stakeholders)
βœ… Interpersonal relationships and power dynamics among board members
βœ… Board decision-making processes and information sharing
βœ… Conflict, collaboration, and the role of the board chair
βœ… How board dynamics influence organizational outcomes

We encourage methodological diversity - including qualitative, quantitative, and conceptual approaches - as long as they advance theoretical understanding.
