Registration is now open for a collection of online workshops on social network analysis (SNA) offered by the LINKS Center for Social Network Analysis at the University of Kentucky with support from our partners, the NILab of Bocconi and the Organisations and Innovation group of University College London. This year we are offering two synchronous online workshops with two plenary sessions, conducted over Zoom. Participating in either 3-day workshop entitles you to participate in the Plenary Sessions portion of the Workshop.

Introduction to Social Network Analysis. May 11 - May 13, 2026. A non-technical 3-day course led by Rich DeJordy and Dan Halgin.
This workshop provides a balanced introduction to social network analysis, including theoretical concepts and network measures, using software and interpreting results. The workshop will introduce the main concepts of SNA, including centrality, cohesion, and social capital, and demonstrate routines using UCINET and Netdraw software (both Windows programs). Participants are encouraged to follow along on their own machines. Although our expertise is primarily in social networks and management research, we do our best to incorporate examples relevant to participants with backgrounds in education, health, history, and other disciplines. Starting May 11, the course meets Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT and 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. EDT. This course costs $1500 ($750 for students).
Technical Introduction to Network Analysis. May 11 - May 13, 2026. A technical 3-day course led by Steve Borgatti.
This is an in-depth workshop focusing on the concepts and methods of SNA, with particular emphasis on relating network measures to research goals. The mathematics behind the measures is explained, as well as how to use the measures in a research context. UCINET for Windows software is used extensively. Please note that MAC users will need Parallels to run UCINET. Starting May 11, the course meets Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., and 12:45 p.m. – 4 p.m., all times EDT. This course costs $1800 ($900 for students).
Plenary Sessions on Network Theorizing and Network Research. May 14, 2026. Led by Alessandro Iorio and Pier Vittorio Mannucci of Bocconi, and Martin Kilduff of University College London.
These plenary sessions will explore key issues in network research, including the design of network experiments, approaches to working with dyadic data, and strategies for making strong theoretical contributions. The sessions will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EDT (led by Alessandro Iorio and Pier Vittorio Mannucci of Bocconi) and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT (led by Martin Kilduff of UCL). All registered workshop participants are invited to attend at no additional cost.
One-on-One Consultations. We will offer a limited number of one-on-one consultations with Ajay Mehra to discuss theory-and-research-design issues related to your project(s).
