Ethical leadership pays off in addressing bottom-line demands. The nature of business often has leaders' orienting employees' focus toward the bottom-line. Our results show that the times leaders focus on the bottom line instigates anxiety and exhaustion among employees that then motivates unethical behavior. Yet, we also show that leaders' day-after-day commitment to ethics (displaying ethical leadership) provides employees the needed guidance and understanding to not turn to unethical behavior to address bottom-line demands. #leadethically
