This position is funded by Plastic Recycling Research Cluster, UBC Eminence Program. The Plastic Recycling Research Project team consists of an interdisciplinary team - scholars from the field of engineering, psychology, and organization theory; industry partners, policy makers, and partners from Indigenous communities.
Scope of work:
The postdoc fellow is expected to get involved in the research project - conducting interviews with policymakers, industry partners, and Indigenous communities; collecting archival data; literature reviews; analyzing and interpreting data; and writing research and practice papers. You will be working under the guidance of Dr. Grace Fan (Faculty of Management at UBC Okanagan campus). You will have opportunity to interact with cluster faculty members from
Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Creative Studies, and Department of Psychology.
Expectations:
- A Ph.D. degree in organization theory, management, environmental sustainability, Indigenous studies, and/or relevant disciplines
- Expertise in qualitative research methodology (data collection and analysis)
- Solid research potential demonstrated by the ability to publish in high impact peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work independently while participating collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team
- Critical thinking
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse people across all career stages.
- Excellent proven relationship-building skills as the project involves working with Indigenous communities
Salary: $45k-50k per annum plus benefits (one-year full time)
