The Organization Design Community is pleased to announce that it will hold an online Idea Development Workshop on October 25 & 26, 2022, over the two days before its Annual Meeting. The Workshop is designed to support PhD students or other junior scholars interested in topics related to organization design, by matching each participant with three senior scholars who will provide feedback on a proposed study, similar in format to a PhD proposal defense.
The co-chairs of this inaugural workshop are Özgecan Koçak and Tobias Kretschmer. Faculty mentors include Carliss Baldwin, Oliver Baumann, Richard Burton, Francisco Brahm, Joe Cheng, Florian Englmaier, Matthias Fahn, Vibha Gaba, Scott Ganz, Dorthe Døjbak Håkonsson, John Joseph, Rob Kazanjian, Ronald Klingebiel, Borge Obel, Marlo Raveendran, Metin Sengul, Kanan Srikanth, Gurneeta Vasudeva, and Brian Wu.
The workshop will consist of parallel feedback sessions of one hour each, running from 10 am to 12 noon ET each day. Each feedback session will consist of a 10-minute presentation by the participant, 5-minute comments by each senior scholar, and open discussion. The feedback sessions will be open only to program participants and applicants. We also encourage student participants to prepare questions for a half-hour panel that will conclude each day's program.
We welcome participants from all stages of a PhD program, post-docs, and junior faculty, but places in the workshop are limited. Applicants should submit a (maximum) 5-page paper / thesis proposal to the workshop co-chairs Özgecan Koçak (ozgecan.kocak@emory.edu) and Tobias Kretschmer (t.kretschmer@lmu.de) by September 15, 2022. We will inform all applicants of their admission and match them with mentors by September 30. Successful applicants will be awarded an annual membership to Organization Design Community, which also covers the fees for the conference on October 27-28.
