We're excited to invite you all to an AOM Professional Development Workshop: "Organizational Nationalism in a Deglobalizing World: Toward a Unified Theoretical Framework"

Nationalism is reshaping how firms compete, build identity, and navigate global markets-and management research is racing to catch up. As protectionism, immigration restrictions, and geopolitical rivalries intensify, organizations aren't just constrained by nationalism-many actively adopt, enact, and propagate it through their strategies, brands, and narratives. This PDW brings together leading scholars to build an integrated framework for studying it.

    OUR DISTINGUISHED PANELISTS:
🔹 Ilya Cuypers (Singapore Management University) - a framework for nationalism in global strategy: its basis, manifestations, and targets
🔹 Witold Henisz (University of Pennsylvania) - organizational nationalism within the broader landscape of corporate political identity
🔹 Minyoung Kim (Ohio State University) - how MNEs configure value chains to protect bargaining power under host-country nationalism
🔹 Eero Vaara (University of Oxford) - nationalism as socially and discursively constructed, and a future research agenda

Expect interactive discussion and roundtable breakouts spanning international business, organizational theory, nonmarket strategy, methodology, and historical approaches.
