Organization and Management Theory OMT

  • 1.  Seeking DBA-Level Organizational Theory Syllabi

    Posted 2 days ago

    Dear colleagues,

I'm currently designing an Organizational Theory course for a DBA program, and I was wondering if any of you would be willing to share syllabi or teaching materials that you have used in similar DBA or executive doctoral settings.

Any examples or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Erica

    Dear Erica,

My go-to-reference for many of our DBA modules is the 2018 book by Costly and Fulton (see below). Are you familiar with it?

Armsby, P., Costley, C., & Cranfield, S. (2018). The design of doctorate curricula for practising professionals. Studies in Higher Education, 43(12), 2226–2237. https://doi.org/10.1080/03075079.2017.1318365
Costley, C., & Fulton, J. (2018). Methodologies for Practice Research: Approaches for Professional Doctorates. SAGE.

Otherwise, a traditional PhD org theory syllabus may be a good starting point, but probably requires tweaking/refinement for the practice aspect/background of DBAs.

I'd be curious to take a look/exchange once you have a draft.

    KR, David
