    Time for Award Nominations!

Dear OMT Friends, happy new year to you and your loved ones!

Each year Organization and Management Theory (OMT) Division honors its outstanding members with awards. This year we call for nominations for the Distinguished Scholar Award and for the Joanne Martin Trailblazer Award.

Please don't let this opportunity pass to nominate someone who you think has had an important and valuable impact on the field.

    Distinguished Scholar Award

The Distinguished Scholar Award is for an OMT Division member whose contributions have been central to the intellectual development of the field of organization studies. As individuals, each recipient embodies a career of scholarly achievement and has had a significant impact on OMT scholarship. For past Distinguished Scholar award winners, please see here.

    Joanne Martin Trailblazer Award

The biennial Trailblazer Award recognizes scholars who have taken a leadership role in the field of OMT by opening up new lines of thinking or inquiry. A Trailblazer is a boundary-spanner and a conversation starter, someone who extends and builds the OMT community by shepherding new ideas and new scholarship, often in unconventional ways. Actions that may indicate "trailblazing" behavior include starting up or moving forward a journal or scholarly series, organizing a conference or workshop, and beginning or continuing a conversation about a set of OMT ideas. Read about the award's origin and past winners here.

To nominate candidates, please visit the AOM DIG Nominations portal and follow the onscreen instructions to log-in to your Academy profile. Once you log-in, you may select 'Nominate Now' for Organization and Management Theory. You can also send your nominations directly to me.

Nominations should include a brief text explaining the nature and extent of the nominee's contributions. For the Distinguished Scholar Award, the nomination should point out contributions to and influence on OMT scholarship. For the Trailblazer Award, the nomination should highlight activities that prompted new lines of inquiry, new journals, or series of conferences and workshops in the domain of OMT.

The deadline for all nominations is Wednesday, 31 January 2024. So please make your nominations now.

Very best wishes for the New Year,

    Emilio J. Castilla

    Division Chair-Elect
