We are thrilled to invite you to the 9th iteration of the Behind the Scenes PDW, where we generate rich conversations about ethnographic work in organizational contexts.
This year, we turn to the unwritten challenges of ethnographies - the kinds of issues that arise in every ethnographer's experience but rarely surface in our published accounts. These can include the emotional weight of sustained immersion, ethical gray zones, positional dynamics, or representational trade-offs, among many other concerns. Our panelists - seasoned ethnographers who have navigated these challenges firsthand - will share their own war stories and take your questions. Then, in small-group roundtables facilitated by our panelists, you'll have the chance to discuss challenges from your own work.
Whether you're a doctoral student designing your first fieldwork, an early-career researcher navigating access negotiations, or a seasoned ethnographer who has long weathered these challenges alone - this PDW offers a rare space for candid conversation that can sharpen your own practice.
