In this episode, Martin explains how his research helps explain how an association with someone famous can help people secure a position. He also explains how it can be detrimental when the long-term association “buffers” people from underperforming or penalizes them for overperforming. Martin also talks about the pandemic-related changes he had to make as OMT Program Chair to this year’s Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
