Devin Rapp is an assistant professor of management in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University. His research focuses on mental health at work, burnout, stigma, work-nonwork boundaries, and identification. He primarily utilizes qualitative methods that allow immersion into contexts and occupations, such as farmers, entrepreneurs, neurodivergent workers, workers with mental illness, and healthcare workers during the pandemic. Along with numerous projects in process and peer-reviewed presentations, Rapp has published in multiple journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology and, recently, in the Academy of Management Journal that highlights the experience of healthcare workers being called “heroes” during the pandemic.
