Junior Faculty Consortium Report

2020 Junior Faculty Consortium Report

This year’s OMT Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC) was a huge success. Below are just a few examples from the many positive comments we received:

Thank you so much for organizing and allowing me to participate in the JFC at AoM this year. It was truly inspiring and the feedback from both mentors was very useful.

Thank you for planning! It was an excellent session!

You did a great job organizing it, amidst such tough circumstances

The JFC took place on Friday and included panels and roundtables. The attendees included 56 impressive junior faculty and senior faculty who served and 46 institutions and 10 countries. The senior faculty served as mentors and panelists throughout the afternoon.

Overall, we thought that participants engaged in a productive exchange of ideas and discussions regarding various issues, ranging from research and productivity to career management. In addition to two roundtables, we organized the following two panels:

  • Publishing -- Building a productive research program, with Tiziana Casciaro, Ray Reagans and Olav Sorenson
  • Navigating tenure and creating impact throughout your career, with Paola Criscuolo, Sameer Srivastava, Pam Tolbert, and Klaus Weber

Finally, we’d like to acknowledge that a successful JFC is due to the efforts and contributions of all involved, and especially thank the dedicated, tireless senior faculty:

  • Anne Bowers U of Toronto
  • Tiziana Casciaro U of Toronto
  • Paola Criscuolo Imperial College
  • Gina Dokko UC Davis
  • Isabel Fernandez-Mateo London Business School
  • Mark Kennedy Imperial College
  • Adam Kleinbaum Dartmouth
