OMT Global - Doing Organizational Research Around the World

2020 “OMT Global: Doing Organizational Research Around the World” PDW Report

The Organization & Management Theory Division offered the “Doing Research Around the World” professional development workshop at the 2020 Annual Virtual Meeting of the Academy of Management. This PDW facilitated networking and discussion around the unique challenges and opportunities of planning, implementing, and publishing high-quality organizational research using international settings and helped create bridges between scholars across the world. 2020 was the 3rd consecutive year that this highly successful workshop has been offered as a permanent part of the OMT yearly program.

This year, we had 39 participants around the world and 13 senior panelists, whose research utilized data from around the world, including Africa, China, India, Israel, and Russia. The PDW included two roundtable sessions where participants discussed their individual papers and received feedback on them from panelists and participants.

This year, the senior panelists who joined the workshop were: Christina Ahmadjian (Hitotsubashi University); Brandy Aven (Carnegie Mellon University); Suresh Bhagavatula (IIM Bangalore); Emily Block (University of Alberta); Henrich Greve (INSEAD); Yujin Jeong (American University); Anna Kim (McGill University); Rajiv Kozhikode (Simon Fraser University); Rekha Krishnan (Simon Fraser University); Jochem Kroezen (University of Cambridge); Seok-Woo Kwon (University of Calgary); Jordan Seigel (University of Michigan); and Christopher B Yenkey (University of South Carolina).

We would like to thank all the participants and panelists who made this workshop a success.

Thank you, and we hope to see you again next year!
