***Apologies for cross-posting***
Dear colleagues,
We are excited to share that we are organizing a pre-colloquium workshop (PDW) on July 8th, 2026, prior to this year's European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) Colloquium. Titled 'Organizing in a Post-Truth World: Concepts in Practice', our PDW is taking place online from 13.00-17.30 CEST. For more information on the program, please visit the EGOS Website.
This PDW sets out to further our understanding of post-truth concepts in practice, exploring how organizations and practitioners tackle current societal challenges posed by the rise of post-truth communication (PTC). Understanding PTC and its polarizing capacities as a Grand Societal Challenge for contemporary democracies, the PDW aims to facilitate inter- and transdisciplinary conversations between scholars from a variety of fields.
An exceptional interdisciplinary panel will set the stage for further discussions on practical cases of managing post-truth attacks:
Itziar Castelló, Bayes Business School, UK
Elżbieta Drążkiewicz, Lund University, Sweden
Yiannis Gabriel, University of Bath, UK
Sine Just, Roskilde University, Denmark
Peter Winkler, University of Salzburg, Austria
To alleviate screen fatigue, we incorporate an audio walk for this PDW, which will allow participants to step away from their screens whilst further engaging with practical material on PTC. These auditory nuggets serve as a bridge between the prior panel discussion and following case work. In roundtables, facilitated by the panelists, we will engage with concerns that practitioners within (mainstream) media, activism, and civil society organizations/think tanks face when it comes to PTC and aim to establish a shared understanding of post-truth concepts in theory and practice.
We warmly invite you to join us in vivid discussions on matters of organizing in a post-truth world. Please feel free to share this call with others who might be interested as well!
Warm regards on behalf of the organizing team, Lena Kostuj, Isabelle Neufang, and Milena Leybold,
