Organization and Management Theory OMT

We're excited to share our new editorial on AI usage at Organization Science. Claudine Gartenberg, Sharique Hasan, Alex Murray, and I took the last six years of submission and review data and analyzed it for AI content in writing. Usage has grown dramatically since ChatGPT was first introduced, but appears to be producing more instead of better papers. We write this as avid users of AI in our own work, so we're making no normative judgments here on its use. We think AI can indeed advance research frontiers and improve access, but not necessarily in the way authors think. But we felt it was important to document exactly what was happening in the peer review process so the broader research community could better debate and improve a stressed peer review system.  Thanks for reading!
