Every year, Corporate Governance: An International Review recognizes the most relevant and rigorous studies published in the journal with our Best Paper and Runner-up Award. This year's award goes to Tanja Artiga González and Paul Calluzzo and their paper "Clustered shareholder activism" (Corporate Governance: An International Review 2019;27:210-225). The 2019 Runner-up Paper is "Passing the Baton: The effects of CEO succession planning on firm performance and volatility" by Ran Tao and Hong Zhao (Corporate Governance: An International Review 2019;27:61-78).

You can find more information on the award and free access to both articles at: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/14678683/homepage/custom_copy.htm.

Congratulations to the authors on these achievements! We thank them for their contributions to the journal and hope that these articles will receive their deserved attention.
