The Centre for Social Innovation of Trinity Business School is delighted to invite you to the next event of the virtual Trinity Business Ethics Speaker Series.

The guest speakers for the upcoming event on Feb 4, 5 pm Dublin time are Jordi Gabriel and Marco Velásquez-Ruiz. Jordi is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Business Ethics (IWE), University of St Gallen. He is an expert in the area of business and human rights with a particular interest in remediation, moral repair and associated theories of justice. Marco is adjunct professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana conducting research related to Business and Human Rights, Transitional Justice and Peacebuilding, and Migration-Development.

Jordi & Marco will talk about the topic "Corporate Reparations in Transitional Justice Settings: A Restorative Justice Approach. The case of Colombia's Conditionality Regime". Their talk aims at highlighting the need for broadening the scope of corporate reparations beyond material reparations and to allow for an approach to corporate repair in which victims' participation and needs are placed at the centre. This is illustrated by discussing the Conditionality Regime under Colombia's Special Jurisdiction for Peace as part of its Integral System of Truth, Justice, Reparation, and non-Repetition.

Mary Lawlor, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders and adjunct professor of business and human rights in the Centre for Social Innovation at Trinity will join the event as interdisciplinary discussant. The event will be accompanied by another exclusive music performance by Santoria, Ireland's Premier Soul Band.
