Identity and identification are being impacted by disruptors of the digital era. Disruptors such as working from home, online platforms, choosing and using avatars, operating in the metaverse… all of this is reshaping our social and professional identities and facilitating the emergence of new identities. The purpose of this symposium is to engage a group of panelists in a formal, moderated, interactive discussion of (1) the disruptions technologies of digital era are causing to professional identities; (2) the panelists' understanding of them; (3) the newly emerging professional identities; (4) the implications of work environment on workers; and (5) research opportunities.
